Registration Requirements for a Pharmacist

In addition to meeting general requirements for registration in NL, as detailed on the Registration Requirements page, pharmacists must also meet specific education, practical training, examination, and membership requirements. Practical Training Requirements

Applicants for registration as a pharmacist must complete a period of practical training under the supervision of an approved preceptor. This training is in addition to any experiential training completed as part of an accredited pharmacy program. The minimum number of hours required varies depending on the pharmacy program from which the applicant has graduated. For specific information regarding practical training requirements, please choose the appropriate option below:

Prior to applying to begin practical training, applicants must first apply to be registered as a Pharmacy Intern. Please follow the steps outlined for Pharmacy Interns to apply to start practical training.

 

Register as a Pharmacist

Once all other requirements have been met, applicants can begin the final steps of registering as a pharmacist by completing and submitting the application appropriate to their situation on the Application Portal.
